Blindman’s Holiday has a new CD called About Time. Recorded in 2005 with Australia Council funding, personnel is Clarita Derwent, Linda Marr, Christina Mimmocchi and Helen Rivero. Percussionist Jess Ciampa and producer Greg White added their special touches to the mix of original and traditional songs sung a cappella. Tracks include songs from Aceh, Sardinia and Bulgaria alongside original songs by Australian songwriters on themes of love, credit cards and coffee.

About Time (BH0505) is a commentary on the times we are living in here in Australia with songs like Alistair Hulett’s Behind Barbed Wire - about refugee children in detention - and Cancion de Cuna Aborígen, a lullaby for an indigenous child. It’s also a reference to unusual time signatures including 9/8 (Zavedime Yalino) as well as different ways of breaking up the more usual time signatures. About Time also acknowledges that apart from a children's album (Work Play Sleep in 2003), this is Blindman's Holiday's first album since 1997.

The group celebrates 20 years of Blindman's Holiday in 2006 – surely some kind of a record. Groundbreaking all-female A Cappella group specialising in world music, still going strong!
