COLLABORATIONS: As well as joining in singing harmony in concert for fellow artists such as the Hothouse Flowers, Alistair Hulett, Tigramuna, Kim Sanders and Bubaca Diop, Blindman's Holiday experiments with a wide variety of musical forms: Performance of Tehillim by Steve Reich with B'tutta Percussion and the Seymour Group, artistic director Mark Summerbell; live performance and recording of techno-dance music combined with traditional Macedonian song with techno artist Maxim [Robert Sazdov] culminating in his '97 CD release Subdina. Lead and backing vocals and hand percussion with contemporary salsa band Banana Republic ('93). Performance and ABC recording of the music of medieval abbess Hildegard von Bingen with the groundbreaking UK/Australian ensemble Sinfonie under the direction of Stevie Wishart, (Adelaide International Arts Festival and Eugene Goossens Hall, Sydney '92). Performances with the cross-cultural instrumental ensemble Southern Crossings led by Michael Atherton (Vox Mundi, Melbourne International Festival of the Arts, '92). Soundtrack for the dance production Pueblo de Mais composed by Ricardo Andino (Margaret Barr Dance Theatre '89). Live performances with midi and visuals of Hours of the Seabird, composed by Jim Franklin (WATT/New Directions Festival, Sydney '88). CHILDREN'S CONCERTS: Blindman's Holiday has been performing concerts for children in schools, at festivals and on tour in Australia and overseas for the last 20 years. The one hour participatory show Zingari Voci (Gypsy Voices) has received high praise from educators and was part of the Musica Viva in Schools Programme for 10 years. WORKSHOPS: Blindman's Holiday leads workshops on a range of vocal styles, voice care and techniques, improvisation, song writing and arrangement in primary and high schools, conservatoriums, jails and at festivals. The group has conducted arts residencies culminating in concerts for communities in South Eastern NSW (2005 - including "Gulaga", especially written by BMH for the residency) and North Western NSW (2002) through Musica Viva and in Adelaide (1993) for SA Community Arts. Workshops at recent festivals include Mt Beauty , Woodford and Jervis Arts. Well known for teaching Balkan and other cultural singing styles, workshops and repertoire can be tailored to suit the choir or a particular cultural or demographic group.
