Keklik Aile (Turkish for partridge family) transports the audience on a journey around the world, sampling the music and culture of places along the way. Feast on the exotic musical delights of Eastern Europe and the Middle East, with a taste of Caribbean and Asian spice thrown in. The chefs.....errrr......musicians serve up lashings of plucked oud, hot bagpipe, devilled darabukka and honey-glazed vocal guaranteed to stimulate the digestive juices!

Linda Marr, founding member of internationally acclaimed a cappella group Blindman's Holiday and pioneer exotic music group Nakisa, sings lead vocals and plays oud, guitar, frame drums and tapan. Linda also performs with Tokakros and The Far Seas. Yuri Halay is a sought-after specialist in Eastern European and Arabic music playing strings as well as wind instruments including oud, saz, domra, Bulgarian bagpipes, clarinet and shepherds flute. Soloist with the now defunct ensemble Drum Arabic, he performs with street theatre troupe Zaffa the Alchemist. Elias Ellis plays a variety of drums including darbuka, frame drums, djembe and congas. He has performed and recorded with Voices from the Vacant Lot, Toni Nation, Tiramisu, Brassov and Wak Attack and tours internationally with Stalker Theatre.

Performance highlights include the National Folk Festival in 2000, tour of New Zealand venues and performances at Thredbo World Music Festival in 2001, and Queensland's World Beat Festival, Conservatorium and City Hall in 2004. The group was recently featured in an episode of the SBS TV arts programme Fusions . School tours are undertaken every year to different parts of Australia.
